I'm a Notepad++ guy myself.

I do most of my coding right now on a mac so I use Coda..has a great workflow without all the overhead.

As mentioned before Dreamweaver is great because of the workflow. Honestly, I'd use Notepad++ with a few extensions for connecting to a web server and publishing and file management, much cheaper and I don't like all the extras Dreamweaver offers.

Netbeans, I have used DW, and many other IDEs, I feel Netbeans is much better if you know how to use it properly.

Now, when people say something like "Notepad++", how big a project are you talking about? When I've done fairly simple sites, with like a dozen or two php files, I might use something EditPlus (which kicks-ass, btw), but if I'm working on something with a couple hundred or more php files, that's totally different. I've used Zend Studio in the past (customer paid for it), am now using Eclipse, though Netbeans looks quite good.

You're absolutely right, for a big project an IDE like Eclipse, Netbeans or Aptana Studio might be more convenient.

Btw, I'm trying out EditPlus, it does kick ass. +rep
