You guys are hilarious. You all sound like you work for the government anti-piracy department, and the even sadder part is that those people get payed. Do you even understand how much money the companies that distribute these games get? You know, the fat cats at the top drive bentleys while there are people starving, kids living with single parent mums who have to shell out £50 of their welfare/jobseekers to afford their kids these games. Its disgusting. I say pirate if you can, buy if you like the game to get multiplayer, and make the fat cats fatter. People will never stop making games because there will always be profit in it. The fat cats just wont be quite as fat.

+1 great post

its laughable that these people defend corporations like there own mothers without realising these same companies will step on a newborn if it means an extra cent in there pockets, these greedy corps always blame the people for there shortcomings and guess who defends them???? the same people who are being destroyed by the corporations i mean get real i love gaming but blindly defending these horrible corporations is the reason we have laws that favor the corporation instead of basic human rights, dman when will the world wake up and realise this way of thinking the poor corps are the victims is just ridiculous

whether its valve ea or activision they could sell 1 copy of a game the rest of the year and still make record profits, u guys are against pirating but have absolutely nothing to say when these same corps are caught using child/slave labor etc for producing these precious products that 99percent of the time arent even complete

why not ask your congressman for a bailout with our money to save the poor game publishers that rush game after game insisting quantity over quality??

Ugh. People on both extremes of this argument are so daft. Each has an equally tenuous grasp of basic economic concepts.

Doesn't really matter because online features are STEAM tied, so they will have to use hacked servers or something.

Now that I'm making decent money, I rarely pirate games. The games that I do pirate rarely get more than 15-20 minutes of playtime, and if I do like them I'll buy them.
I shelled out $60 for MoH on pre-order because of how awesome it was said to be, and the game was rushed like it ran out of budget and over it's expected release date.

If you don't want me to pirate your games, give me a demo. Hell, charge me for a demo.
Anyway, I just don't think you people should be so quick to judge.
+1. This is the exact situation for those who pirate, this includes me as well. The only game i could afford was Minecraft. And the only thing i can afford again is a legit key for Crysis 2 MP for 16 dollars.

my basic or advanced understanding of economics is it doesnt work period money is a giant ponzi scheme and we are not on the top, life would be much better without fake money giving u false status/ego, lets base it all on resources hows that for daft, im just tired of seeing people waving flags for the corporate world that is destroying the planet/society while playing the victims and portraying the people all people as crooks until proven innocent, look at all the Arciac security measures u go thru when u buy a legit game just to play we are all the criminals in the corps eyes, if u have any understanding of economics u will see the laws are being changed to favor the poor corps while stomping of the reg people

You're forgetting that these people have earned their money. They've spent MONTHS working on this game. These people can code far better than you can and they've put real effort and many late nights into making this game what it is.

You're going on about how mothers on welfare are buying this game yet you're missing the point here. You don't need the game. Have the decency to simply not download the game at all if you don't want to buy it. If you think games cost too much or shouldn't cost anything at all, protest with your wallet. You're talking like the game is some kind of necessity, like food and the poor can't afford it while the rich factory owners are counting their gold.

And especially when it's a developer like Valve that is full of people who love to work on the games and work with the community, more often than not for free. To make them out to be scumbags simply because they got rich off making great games is detestable.
