[UN] Portal 2 Already Showing Up On Torrent Sites - Page 6

It's laughable how people can open their mouths and make such ignorant statements.

Single mothers should pirate games? Maybe hungry people should steal from grocery stores too? I don't want to upgrade my computer anymore, I'm coming to take yours. If you want something that you can't acquire, instead of working and earning it, you should simply steal it?

In all honesty though, this thread is pretty derailed and should probably be locked. It's not a statement from Valve about the leaks, it's simply stating "Hey, you can pirate Portal 2 now!".

Why don't we just open an OCN private tracker? Then it could be news related to it being added!

(Truthfully, to all you posting this crap above, if you don't want to use your head and think it through, just go pull some Robin Hood stuff and let me know how it goes)

and i absolutely agree with u, im not talking about the devs i include them in the regular people catagory, they deserve all the money but its the giant publisher houses that put restrictions on the devs and make them implement terrible security features that break games as well as release them half done just to make a buck while getting the biggest piece of the pie, not all people can afford a new game every month that doesnt mean they dont deserve to play it, just so u know i will be buyin the game because it is valve and they deserve a few of my clams but u just shouldnt label these people as criminals

Theft is theft. I honestly don't care about the whole technicality of it's not. Speak with your wallets when it comes to bad drm and buggy games. Piracy only encourages it.

ignorance is too think hungry people shouldnt get fed no matter what because of there social status, my personal opinion is everyone on the planet should be given whatever we want but thats a different thread/forum its already been proven good games get bought no matter what and the people who pirate spend more on retail items then those who dont im just tired of these companies blaming pirates/people for the majority of bad dumbed down broken releases arent u, with all the great marketing ploys used nowadays its nice to check out a game before u buy it

edit: and labeling it great before it comes out is a lil fanboyish it wouldnt suprise me if theres a major bug on release day keeping a majority of players from playing, isnt that the norm nowadays but thats because of pirating right?

So since a game is buggy or is half finished you proceed to pirate it?

Pirating only makes the problem worse. To protest a bad game that has intrusive DRM, bugs, is unfinished, the best way to do it is to simply not play the game. Why would you even want a buggy, rushed, game anyway? Take Bulletstorm as an example, it looked like crap, it used GFWL, so I didn't buy it. However, other people decided to pirate it.

What's Epic likely to conclude? They made a bad game or that people are too cheap to buy it? Probably the latter. If a game isn't pirated AND isn't bought, that'll send a crystal clear message back to the publishers that their game was awful.

And just because you can't afford something you want doesn't make you entitled to it. I have absolutely no idea why you think that. If it's food, health-care, or something that you need, then yes, I'd argue regardless of social status you should be granted that. But these are video games, you can live without them.

im just a supporter of the venus project so i think that way everyone deserves whatever they want we are all one,u are right about most of it tho, but i see nothing wrong with trying a game out from torrent first then buying if i like it, there are to many bad games released nowadays that have great marketing campaigns with money being hard to come by its much better to try before u buy game studios are way to handcuffed by these giant publishing houses to be trusted with my hard earnd doe its ok for the corps to steal but when its the people burn em at the stake

edit: i enjoyed bulletstorm lol

If you can't get Portal 2 now for $45/50, just wait until the summer time. It'll go on sale for a day or two for like $20... Jeez, Valve loves us PC gamers, even the ones without much money. Hence the steam deals.

and they def gonna get my money one of the last true gaming houses, without steam pirating would be much worse the sales are incredible all the time, but people thinking other people should be shot or locked up in a real prison for stealing digital property is just outrageous there are much worse crimes in this world and the blatant support of some of these corps are outrageous there business practices are disgusting and people need to realise that before calling reg people the bad guys all these corps are guilty of many crimes as well they just dont get caught or lobby to get a law changed in there favor, ala geohot vs sony
