I am no longer recommending XFX power supplies. Yes, they use SeaSonic internals, but with their current practices in the GPU market I don't feel confident that we can trust XFX not to cheap out on their existing units with lower quality components, or even a design or OEM change (unlikely--but I'm not feeling very charitable toward XFX at the moment).

And with customer service like the case described above, they're starting to sound more and more like some Chinese fly-by-night company, whose RMA department's main job is to refuse RMAs.

So as of right now, no matter how good a deal it appears to be, I will not be recommending an XFX power supply to any OCN user. You're free to if you wish, but they're on my blacklist and I recommend you put them on yours as well.

Well im sorry you have had a bad experience!! But i refuse to jump on this bandwagon! I have personally had good luck and experiences with XFX! I own 2 graphics cards and a psu! Very happy with all my xfx products so far!

Seems to me your taking this personal! I had two chevy trucks lemon law back to back! And they knew there was a problem with the second truck ,and still shipped the truck. Chevys all my father and brother have ever owned ,and they never had a problem. I dont hate on chevy ( i like there products) I own a ford now but am not against buying another chevy!!

I will still recommend XFX products myself! Even though im sure the ocn trolls will take your lead, and bash them from now on!frown.gif

yeah, just because a company tries to do something like that, doesn't mean they are a bad company, and with customer service, personally i had three d-bag reps from asus, they sucked! but asus fixed my laptop out of warranty for free! despite those cs reps, if a rep ever refused to rma something for me while in warranty, i would ask for a supervisor, and if they refused i would call back and likely get a different one, not before getting the name of the guy/girl that refused to rma it

So they make sucky GPU's, and for that reason you blacklist their power supplies? Seriously, people on this forum can be stupid. Don't jump on hate bandwagons if you don't own their products, of course if you own them criticise away.

XFX denied warranties on graphics cards because of the white flux that comes from the factory in the manufacturing process. They tried to claim water damage.

XFX cards are more expensive than other brands but the warranty and customer support is sub-par. Double-lifetime warranty means nothing when they try to find any little excuse to deny RMA.

I've a total of 4 RMA's with them and each one has been fine, including two 4850's with said white residue.

GFX cards =/= PSU so why not put their cards on the blacklist and UNTIL we get ANY real complaints about their PSU's they are still king.

sad day, XFX is one of my favorite brands, too bad they dropped nvidia support on their GPUs (instead of my MSI's i'd jave gladly taken a couple or two XFX's GTS 450). i loved my old 9400 GT, and when i had to RMA it (artifacting @ stock speeds like 1 week from purchase) i got my RMA in 3 weeks... and hell, i live outside of the USA.

I've only owned one XFX product, a 9600GT, and its still chugging along happily. However, given what they've been doing with their GPU's lately it has certainly made me wary of their products in general. While I can understand people's objections to completely placing them and their products on the black list it's a normal reaction. After all the problems OCZ had with its memory a while back the company was placed on several peoples' black lists.

Anyway I would be interested to see if any of XFX's other products were going the way of their GPU's.

Phaedrus, is XFX still on your blacklist even after the 6770 issue was sorted off?

He said on the other thread that XFX PSUs were OK again.
