not insulting but you do know 1gb each cards vs 2gb each card?

3x1gb= 3gb for nvidia
2x2= 4 gb for ati?

so why are you guys saying that nvidia wins in VRAM?
it doesnt..

and dude trust me the 6990 are better.

but vram is the same anyway 1gb each gpu..
and thats the real vram your gonna get anyway..
Wait what? Did you even read what you just said?
I think you need to learn about VRAM in a GPUs before you post.

I've been looking at getting a Rasa RS240; PM me with a price if you'd want to sell it
OP clearly hinted that money wasn't an issue and wanted the absolute power.
But I'd take 4x6970 than 2 6990s as I don't like being limited on a dual gpu card.

He said we're killing him financially after someone suggested spending an extra 100 on a 2600k rather than a 2500k. Read what I quoted from him

Not enough vram and do port headaches. Thankfully vega's thread was very informative and helpful since we run a similar screen set up

Why even post when you admit to not keeping up with the developments; yet you claim you're a graphics card aficionado under your name. The 6800 series Barts is based off the 5800 series Cypress manufacturing anandtech.
Who the hell is mentioning the Barts series GPUs? We're talking about Cayman here, not barts, not cypress. 6900 HELLO!?!?!?

My point remains, they are all using the 40nm manufacturing process, so thermal envelopes should be similar, not entirely different. Anandtech : AMD's Radeon HD 6970 & Radeon HD 6950: Paving The Future For AMD

I kept up with the developments, but I dont burn the images of those memories into my mind, because being an nVidia fanboy, I always wanted to know in which ways nvidia managed to get footholding against the competition, so I kept myself up to date with what nvidia was up against.

I am a graphics card aficionado, just not for the right brand

Will the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme fit inside say an NZXT Phantom?

I'm almost 100% it will fit the 800D also?
