3DMark Vantage Low Scores - Page 2

1) If you have 'disable PPU' checked that will override what you have set in teh NVCP for physX. I've never heard of the option being greyed out, but honestly running the physX on GPU does NOT give you a 'true' score anyways. The only time physX is actually used in the suite is on the two CPU tests, thus the proper way to run Vantage is with physX on the CPU so that your CPU's strength is tested.
2) I would ignore your total score anyways. What is your GPU score, that's the one that matters
3) With cards that powerful, running the 'Performance' level test in Vantage is a bit of a joke. That's 1280x1024, 1xAA, and not the highest image quality settings. The speed of the CPU becomes very important, even on the GPU tests. So people with OC'd SB's or i7's clocked higher than yours are going to beat you.
4) Other people may have their GPU's OC'd higher than you do that you're comparing against.

Bottom-line to compare properly with others you should run with PPU disabled, and consider only GPU scores, and factor in a little bit for the CPU power and GPU OC of who you're comparing with.

There you go ... 41K is an awesome GPU score. You're golden.

If you're literally getting 23,000 as CPU score, that is a tiny bit low for an i7 at 4.0GHz ... 24K is about right. How are you getting to 4GHz? If you're not doing 20x200, try it that way. Higher BCLOCK and lower multiplier = slightly better perf vs. the opposite way.

Honestly though Vantage Perf is a joke for SLI 580's. Who runs 1280x1024 with 1xAA on SLI580's?

You should be comparing scores on Extreme, or at least High mode thumb.gif

What he said.

Don't compare your results vs others with SB chips either, they're faster clock for clock and most are overclocked higher. It will affect both the cpu score as well as the gpu score because the res is so low and the demand is so little in 3DMark Vantage (SB can push the gpus further getting more out of the same setup in extreme situations like Vantage).
