Going to break a couple of rules here and double post.
Crysis: Highest settings no AA/4X
3dMark Vantage default settings
Just Cause 2: Benchmark 2 and 3
Thoughts so far:
- See sig rig
- i7 920 @ 4.0GHZ
- Windows 7 64 bit
- 4870x2 at stock (750/900)
- CC 11.3 drivers
I still have Batman AA, Metro 2033, and a couple more to do. So far, the 4870x2 has outperformed my GTX 470 (at 732 mhz core) in everything but Vantage.
Vantage is where this card really chokes. I also noticed that the max overclock on the 4870x2 is 800 on the core via AB, which is only a meager 50mhz increase. This is definitely not the card you want to overclock a lot with.
Also, this card runs surprisingly cool. While benching JC2, max temps were only 54 on the top card and 61 on the bottom.
The biggest problem? Well there are two. First of all, this card is extremely long. I could barely get it to fit without scrapping my hard drive bays. And second problem has to be the microstuttering. I noticed various parts in the benchmarks where the benchmark seem to lag at 50+ FPS.
So far, it has been a pleasant experience. A very good bargain at 100 dollars I would say.Edited by youra6 - 4/19/11 at 3:37pm
