ASUS Rampage II Extreme 24gigs?

Thread Starter
I bought a ASUS Rampage II Extreme, and now i want to upgrade my ram.

i was thinking to buy a 12gb set with 3sticks of 4gigs

But now i see that on the dutch site of asus that this bord only supports up to 12 gigs..
http://www.asus.nl/product.aspx?P_ID=W7i5W4Pw4fH22Mih

And when i look on the english site of asus this boards supports up to 24gigs
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...ge_II_Extreme/

whitch site do i have to trust??

and is there somebody here that has tested this board with 4gig sticks, or with 24gigs of ram?

i googled but i didn't find any cleare answer to this...

(in the future (if possible) i want to upgrade to 24gigs, because for my work i have to test a ****load on programs and windows installation (virtualisation))

**Due to Intel spec definition, DIMMs of DDR3-1333 or above are out of spec. Please refer to www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL(Qualified Vendors List).
I don't see why it wouldn't support 24GB. Almost all boards support 4GB modules these days. Maybe it didn't support 24GB at launch but gained the support via a BIOS update, and the Dutch site wasn't updated with the information.

I'd say 24GB should be safe
and I'd say contact Asus US support not whatever country you're in
post #10 of 23
it should work tbh, buy it, if it doesnt, just send it back i dont see why such a high end board wouldnt support! when every other board does
