You should be fine. Its not really the max capacity thats a problem but rather the max addressable memory in each channel/DIMM slot that the NB can read.

For my work (sort of my own company) i use a lot of virtual machines. for testing new software and such.

but now its gets even better, i got a second mail from the guy from asus, and now he is saying that its probably a mistake on the english website...

VMs are one of the few things that really do need that much ram. Good luck getting it sorted.

How can the guy at Asus not give you a definite answer.

thanks, and i don't know why he doesn't give me a concrete answer...

that was the reason why i started this thread, to see if there was somebody that tried it and if it workes or not... (Rampage II Extreme and 24gb)

I have a Rampage II Extreme and just went from 12GB RAM to 24GB. I installed G.Skill F3-12800CL9T2-24GBRL memory. 6X4GB for a total of 24GB. Win7 Pro only recognized 16GB, but CPU-Z recognizes 24GB. Thought Win7 would not limit it at 16GB like Home versions. Will have to figure this one out. On a side note, I run VMware workstation with to support software I write in Win32, Win64 and Solaris64. I can peg the 12GB running 3 VMs plus host computer.
