Asus ENGTX460 Top DirectCU 1GB SLi-ing !

Thread Starter
Hello guys, I visit overclock.net frequently but recently I'm buying a new system and reuse my existing Asus ENGTX460 Top DirectCU 1GB, and I'm planning to SLI it few months later with exact same card.

My new system will be:
I7-2600k
Gigabyte P67A-UD4 B3
4GB x2 Corsair 1333mhz DDR3 Dual Channel Ram
Fans: multiple 120mm and 140mm fans from coolermaster
Asus ENGTX460 Top DirectCU 1GB and will be running SLI soon.
CoolerMaster GX750Watt

Alright heres the problem, can my CM PSU GX750watt support my whole system? Remember, I will be running Asus ENGTX460 SLI too.

I will be overclocking my processor to around 4.4ghz and I will be overclocking my graphic cards too !!

I read from somewhere, a whole system with a single stock Geforce 460GTX will consume around 350watt.

Thanks

Yes, I recall the PSU you have is a pretty terrible one by most reviews accounts but it will probably be able to power your GTX460 and overclocked i7 (which will likely only draw about 450W maximum at load).

Ah, I can see you have a overclocked i7 and SLI Gtx480 with only 875watt of PSU..I guess I should be safe.

Why is CM so terrible? Many reviewers criticize CM..but I've be using CM for 5 years and no problem, the last CM i have is 700w Silent Pro, but I guess GX750 should be better than Silent Pro except GX series can't dismantle the cables.

I don't believe it has anything to do with CM in general just that particular PSU.

I remember the review on the GX 750 because it was comical. Pretty much gave the impression of an overpriced 600 watt PSU with bad ripple and poor capacitor quality.

Just my opinion but if it were me building a new high end system I sure wouldn't hesitate to pick up a new PSU of a little higher quality to go with it.

Oh my bad frown.gif ... I have a 2 years silent Pro 700w. But I already ordered CM GX750. But I think it should be okay.

Anyway, I have to get a better cooler for my processor to overclock it around 4.4~4.6.
