Need Help on Buying MoBo???

Thread Starter
I am wanting to buy a Motherboard but I do not know which one to get? I want it to be easy for overclocking and stuff. I am getting the New Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155. So which do you prefer. I am also wanting to get some ideas on some new RAM as well. At Least 12 Gigs of RAM. Thank you for your help.....

if you like asus or if you like gigabyte

The ASUS P8P67 PRO B3 is probably the best price/performance motherboard for Sandy Bridge.

With that board, an i7 2600k, and a decent after market cooler, you should easily hit +4.6Ghz

I'd say the Asus P8P67 PRO (B3) for sure

As of RAM, if you want a 4GB KIT (More than enough for most daily uses like gaming and such), I'd recommend the following:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-430-_-Product

They're probably also the best price/performance RAM of 1600Mhz and CL7, they're great

As of CPU cooler, it really deppends, are you planning to do any high overclock at all? Like, do you want to keep it at 4-4.5Ghz, or would you like going as high as 4.6Ghz-4.8Ghz?

Hope I could help you,
Kevin.

I would recommend getting 8GB of RAM, they're really cheap these days so might as well

On The Ram I am Trying to get at least 8 or even up to 16GB of Ram. I am trying to make it
the fastest it can be I am not smart on the Overclocking. I really do not even know anything about OCing but I want to make this CPU OC For the Speed. So the easier on OCing, the better for me. I want it to be faster with performance. So Which Ram should I get with the ASUS P8P67 PRO B3 and the New Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz. What is Latencency about as well?

This would be a good 8GB kit:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-445-_-Product

Pretty good for the price and nice latency as well

Latency is just the lower the better

4GB VS 8GB VS 16GB in gaming, the difference is zero.

Basically if you want 8GB for future proof go ahead, but buying 16GB of RAM is a waste of money in my opinion.
