Unlike Gigabyte which lower/mid range products (like EP45 UD3P/UD3LR)are still capable of great overclocks just like their very top end mobos like EP45-Extreme..

Asus has nothing on Gigabyte in the term of BIOS features,Overclock and HW component implementation..

As a Asus owner trust me I know..wink.gif

CHEERS..

True, that is why it is important to not buy mid-range or low-end Asus boards if there are certain features you need. Important to do a little research.

However, they have the most rock solid boards out there.

As I've said, Gigabyte has it's problems. Amongst them are this notorious bug I mentioned. This is a very, very annoying bug. And lot's of people experience it.

Asus has a cold bug issues to,don't think it doesn't (had it happened to me many times)..

Also memory support on Asus mobos is horrible, their mobos are too picky on RAM and not to mention BIOS updates once in a year (if you're lucky)..

You should not spout crap on Asus for their P67 boards if you don't own one.

It's been proven here in OCN that the best OC's have been made on Asus boards, even on the "lowest" ones such as the Asus P8P67 and Asus P8P67 PRO...

And I've yet to see any cold bug issues on both of my Asus P8P67 EVO boards that I have at home since January (Both B2).

You might be right about ur motherboard, but don't talk crap about a motherboard you don't own, these P67 asus boards are the best price/performance boards on the market, way better than the Gigabyte.

KingT - The Asus hater

By the way, yes the P5Q Pro Turbo and P5Q Pro has memory problems when overclocking. The P5Q-E on the other hand is excellent. So it will vary from board to board. Almost as if Asus crippled their Mid-range/low-end boards.

The Asus boards seem to be to doing well,I would also mention the MSI boards.Pretty good results with those as well.Gigabyte just cancelled all P67 boards,so I don't think I would go that route. If you are into max gaming or folding and multiple graphic cards I would rec.the Asus P8P67 WS Revo-has the NF chip for more PCIe lanes

might not need it now,but what if you want to add-on down the road?

I was talking about Asus and Gigabyte and their policies in general..

I was not speaking on P67 mobos..

There's more than just cold boot issues to be aware of..

Gigabyte's cold-boot-loop-cycle issue has Plagued all of Gigabyte's boards, at least since P35's.

You had some cold boot issues with your cheap Asus P31 board. That is not the same as with Gigabyte boards. I've never had cold boot issues with any of my Asus boards. So just because you experienced it on one cheap Asus board does not say anything. Not like the famous Gigabyte bug.

I had it also on P5Q Pro and only thing that solved it was to reflash BIOS (still happened to me )..

Not to mention that 9/10 if I restart system from OS it fails to boot so I had to turn PSU off..

And also never managed to get it to go to sleep..

So Asus also has its issues do not think it doesn't..

There's no perfect mobo out there..

I had a Asus P67 WS mb and is an excellent board if you want to run up to 4 gpus. Now I have a Asus P67 Pro and its also excellent. The newer bios are really good and the boards are really stable. I run my equipment 24/7 at 100% for folding with no issues.
