Need a smaller case.

Thread Starter
Hi guys.

I just moved into a new place and once there I saw that the desk is way to small to fit my p183 ontop.

I'm looking for a smaller cases, logically a µatx one, to move my system into. The width and height aren't that much restricted but the depth can't go much farther than around 450-470mm, since the depth of the desk where the comp will be is only 500mm(~19.6inches).
See attachment(the case will be placed farthest to the left on the desk)

I need this case to be able to sufficiently aircool 2x 560 cards(only got the one atm but plan on adding a 2nd) and it wouldn't hurt if it could fit a high-end cpu cooler(h50/70 or nh-d14).

The ones I've found so far are the Lian Li V354(can run SLI but no decent cpu coolers) and the Silverstone FT03(silverstone says it can fit coolers up to 167mm)

The V354 has all the extra space for HDD's which I wouldn't need, I plan on only running with a SSD and _maybe_ 2x wdblacks.
The FT03 looks really nice, but I'm not sure on the placement of the intake fans.. Slot loading ODD isn't a problem since I won't be using an ODD.

Any advice/experience would be most welcomed since this is my first step into the 'cube case' world

(I recommend this one because with some modding this case can have the same type cooling as a RV02 but in a smaller package.)Check this club out

With the depth you mentioned you still would be able to get a mid tower - many mid tower cases like the antec 300 are still within your 450-470mm depth. What is your preferred depth of your case?

Well 450 would give me adequate clearance behind the case for some airflow+routing of cables, but the smaller footprint the better.. Gives me more space to work with on this tiny desk(Coming from an Ikea Galant )

This case looks like its 430mm long and it has a high rating on newegg but unfortunately has very few fans.

This one looks like it will have much more airflow but I'm not sure how much though
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811108236

I personally feel that most microatx cases are too small to have the airflow most enthusiasts would like and the hyper 212+ has trouble fitting in some mid tower cases let alone the microatx ones...

Thanks for the suggestions! It looks like the FT03 takes the cake atm, based both on aesthetics and usability..
Too bad it costs both arms and all three legs

Maybe a Lian Li V351/352?

It'll fit a H50, any GPU you care to name, though I added mesh to the sides to keep the GPU cool on mine.

Why not just put the PC on the floor? Its not like you have carpet there or anything...
Cramming two 560s in a tiny box is going to give you heat issues

You won't be able to fit in a H50/70 (or any other 120mm rad) without either leaving the sidepanel off or cutting up the FT03. Most of the air coolers (if not all) will fit tho.

From my exp the GPU tends to get very hot without a custom fan profile(I keep it at 45% fan speed to maintain GPU under 70c). I can imagine this to be even worse with Matx SLI/CFX.

If you need any other interior details i'll gladly provide.

PS: I'm selling mine too
