When I wake up tomorrow, someone with the same memories and body will go on OCN and call himself MrDeodorant. He's probably a nice guy, but I can't say that for sure, because I'm not sure he's me.
When you sleep your subconscious is still at work, your brain and body never stop functioning. There is a very big difference between sleeping and what the theory for transporting is. When you sleep your not deconstructed and turned into information... Your argument is rather silly and makes no sense.

You can paint and orange red and try to say we're comparing apples to apples. But take a bite of each and try to convince yourself its still an apple. Didn't work, did it?

I get what your saying. But here's my reasoning for why your wrong (assuming that your one of those people that think that teleportation kills you).

1. Do you have a teleporter? So do you know how it works? Didn't think so.

2. Do you have any idea what how disastrous it would be to turn a human being into pure energy without taking that energy and reconstituting it back into matter?

You seem to think that the teleporter is a copy machine, it copies you then deletes you then makes a new one. The problem is that it deletes you by first turning you into some form of energy.

The sillyness is in the sheer amount of energy it would release. For the average male it would release around 1,659 megatons of energy. That is larger then the largest explosive device we have ever created by a few orders of magnitude.

The only explanation for why a teleporter would not complete destroy itself the instant it started to turn the original thing into energy is if it takes the energy from dissassembling the person and reconstituting it at the destination at the exact same time that the person is being dissassembled.

If it takes all of the energy from the original and puts it back together where you wanted to teleport to then that would include this fictional "soul energy" , not that it exists or anything, and thus. It would be according to the religious lot the same person, at most, the soul simply got transferred from its original body to an exact replica of its original.

They also need to invent super boots, so we can have a real Portal test chamber!
