I don't think you're grasping the concept of when your original body is destroyed, you die forever (ie you go to dreamless sleep and never wake up), and your duplication on the other end takes your place.
So unless we can find a way where we can move our conscious mind from one body/form to another without destroying it, you don't want to teleport.
For instance, instead of teleporting our own body and mind, we could develop puppets we control with our mind (think Surrogates or Avatar) with teleportation communication and then teleport the puppets
