Hi guys,

I've ordered the ASUS P8P67 Pro MB, along with a c300 SSD and 3x WD Green 500gb. I plan to have Windows 7 64 on the SSD and using the 3x WD HDD as data/storage in RAID 5.

On the MB there are 6 Intel SATA controlled ports (2 @ 6gb and 4 @ 3gb), there are also 2 @ 6gb using the Marvel SATA controller. I have been reading that the Marvel SATA controller is not the best, so plan to set it up as following using the Intel SATA controller:

1x SSD on port 0 at 6gb
3x WD HDD on ports 2,3,4 at 3gb using RAID 5

1x DVD ROM on the Marvel SATA controller.

Can anyone tell me if that will work good or what would be the best combo?

Thanks

Looks good to me Any specific reason you chose raid 5?

Excellent. I was going to use RAID 0 for the speed, but after reading a bit more, I decided to opt for RAID 5 for speed and reduntacny, if something goes wrong, I won't loose everything....thats the hope anyway.

That combo is perfect. Besides, you'll never cap out the 3GB interface, so you won't be losing any speed.
