Need fans and controller for 690 II w/240 rad... overwhelmed! - Page 2

^jep, yate loons have got a good reputation, especially petra? once.

About the GT's, the ap-15's (1850 rpm) are almost impossible to get atm because of there popularity and slow shipping?
I personally can't recommend any retailer since I'm living in Europe, but there are several threads in air cooling that recommend some. And you can always ask in the official scythe gentle typhoon club (see sig)

Best of luck to ya!

you can remove the top of the case and mount fans at the top but they have to be 120mm by 25mm or they wont fit. I tried to fit a 140 and that failed.

You can mount the rad under the 120mm mounts, or put the rad at the bottom up to you (i noticed that you have the RS so the bottom might be better for space) .

For fans yate loons(cheap, the best ones are from petra's from what I have heard) or gentle typhoons AP-15(more expensive but best CFM/noise)

The lamptron FC-2 is cheap, 6 channels and can have 40W fans attached to it, which is more than enough. if you want to control more fans get a y splitted 3 pin cable.

Its such a good case for this.

Can I generally use any fan with a controller?

Was thinking about some AP-29's for my rad and Yate Loons for everything else but I was looking at the voltage ranges for fans and some are 5-13v while other are 10-13v. Will they not function correctly when turned all the way down?

Yes, generally speaking. Voltage ranges are given as guidelines as fan mgfs rate this and power usage (amps), usually at 12V. You'll have no issues at all with YL's and from this video, the AP-29's seem to undervolt pretty well.
