im still having problems with this im still tweaking on settings adjusting them up and down one at a time this problem is really weird im having hangs on restarts and shutdowns still and its acting like its not wanting to save the bios or load it on startup

you have cpu voltage at 1.39 still ? try 1.42 and watch your temps closely. see if its just low voltage.

im running in between 48-50c core temp in prime 95 with 1.39v and 30-31c idle with it set at 1.425v its running at 50-52c core temp and 31-32c idle

bios is hanging on startup after shutdown from windows then power on i have to hold down the power button till it shuts off then when i turn back on it shows overclock and overvoltage failure i can open setup and check everything and it saves anything i change so i save it and exit and it reboots fine and loads windows or sometimes after saving and exiting it hangs and wont shutdown so i have to hold the button again and repeat this all over it doesn't make any sense all these voltages should be in range and work perfectly from what i understand about this setup

im using hwmonitor and cpuz as well as prime95 to test all the voltages and temps and everything looks perfect

could there be anything else in the bios that would cause it to do this ive checked everything in the bios and it all looks fine and it all works when i set everything back to defaults

also noticed it only hangs on the save if i change anything it doesnt hang and will load windows if i enter setup then go strait to save and exit

im sorry but i think its your board limiting your oc. thats pretty much what happens to me when i try to go to say, 3.8 and i hate to think about adding voltage. your temps in my opinion are at the limit of adding voltage.
im sorry but its all i can think of off the top of my head that makes sense. its definitely not your ram because its underclocked down to 928. do you have the cheap 1333 ram (PC3 10600) or the ' better intel ' ram ?
whats the highest cpu you can reach and be 100% stable ?
*edit* also, have you tried 231 at x15.5 ? some asus and phenom have problems with both even and multiples of 5**

3.6ghz is stable i havnt tried 3.8ghz yet but i can acheive it with a 245mhz clock and 1.5v to the cpu and yes it is the cheap ram pc3-10600
cpuz shows this for the memory:
frequency: 465.0 mhz
fsb:dram: 1:2
latency: 6
Delay: 6
precharge: 6
cycle time: 15
bank cycle time: 20
command rate: 1t

nb frequency: 2325.0 mhz

out of curiosity try timings 7-7-7-21-28
you might also try bumping the ram volts up to 1.6 but i wont be responsible for overvolted and fried ram
you should have your ram multi on 533 also. that will get you back closer to 1333 by being at 1236-1237. but try the timings before you do this. then try the voltage if you want. then up your ram multi.
im thinking cpu or ram volts. ram timings. i cant find a listing for patriots timings. im giving a look now.

*These 4GB modules are designed to run at PC3-10600 (1333MHz) at CAS 9 latency timings. Built using specific build-of-materials (BOMs) we ensure that every ...**
cant access patriot ram site. this was on google search page.

i guess bump it to 533 multi and take the timings to whatever the hell 9-9-9-27-36 is if it works. im not a ddr3 man. i dont know the timings for cas9. thats the other 80% of this forum.

i pushed the system up to 3.8ghz and booted into windows but as soon as i ran prime95 my computer shutdown so i went back to the 3.6

as for the ram timeings im not real sure how to set them (thats why i had set to auto)

here is a couple pics of the options my bios gives to set the timeings ill be honest i have no clue what i need to change here

just boosting the memory clock to 533 timings are at 8-8-8-20-27 according to cpuz

but nothing im doing is having any effect on my bios hangs its doing the same things consistantly with every change no matter what it is and how drasticly i change it
i can get a 3.6ghz clock by adjusting the cpu frequency at 232mhz and leaving everything set to auto and it still has bios problems or even a 3.2ghz clock at 206mhz with everything set to auto and everything is stable except the bios
