I agree completely, however, the logic begs the question, "then what good is it?"

...than the normal state is that pin 1 is open, pin 2 is connected and pin 3 is the common connector.

Examples for an automated shutdown: If you want to use the ATX break adapter for the PSU you would use pin 3 and 2. If you connect the relay parallel to the power button of your case you would use pin 3 and 1.

Besides that you can also use the USB keyboard function of the aquaero to let it push the standby key for example.

While you're here I might also ask, why did the brains behind the device decide to use that strange sort of connector for the 2 +12v PWM channels? As far as I can tell it doesn't come with the connectors that you need to use those, either, though I don't think I've seen any unboxings of it yet so I'm not 100% on that.

We have used these connectors to make sure that people do not try to connect fans or pumps there.

Interesting. So what're they supposed to be used for?

We recommend them for small loads like LEDs or other things. Unlike the other channels they have no overload and overheat protection so when adding some fans or even a pump (which would not run anyway) you can easily kill it. Of course it is possible to use these channels only as a control signal for fans or a pump.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks.

Thread Starter
As a side question, will the flushtube work at all if mounted on the side of an aquatube, or would it really have to be positioned on the bottom? i understand it uses the inlet to push fluid against the plexi, so I'm thinking it won't work if mounted horizontally.......?
Right. It's meant to keep the plexi from fogging up, so it has to be aligned so it can hit it directly, which is only possible from a bottom inlet.

Thanks Shoggy
I read it as a dual switch with a common pin and inverted switch actions than :-)
