I'm getting more and more interested by this thing. Yet I don't quite understand the difference between the XT and the PRO. Except the additional buttons on the controller itself?

The XT comes with a heatsink pre-installed on the controller and a remote; the Pro does not but has the IR sensor for the remote if you want to purchase that separately (you'll have to, anyway).

Hum. Well I saw the mini watercooled block and it seemed very cool.
As for the remote is it really that necessary? The product sheet mentions a software that helps you configuring it. I don't know what else I'd use the remote for.

The remote is sort of like if you have the case in a spot where it's inconvenient to use the front panel buttons, but rather than that it makes it very easy to display custom text on the screen. You can also turn off the unit (and the whole system, I think) from the remote.
