6850's are good but depending on where you live the 6870's can often be only slightly more expensive, yet they offer much better performance. 6850's overclock very well though.

@OP, Do you have a mATX system and computer case by any chance? I see your PSU is a mATX designed unit. Or i might be mistaken.

edit: is your CPU at stock speeds? Is your stock speed 3.2Ghz? I am worried it might be a bottleneck to a 6870 or a 5870?

Now for a ATI card!

Also, 5870 is a bit faster than a 6870, however the 6870 can tesselate x3 better and had better driver support, better overclock potential, cooler running, more quite, less power draw.

well stock atm, my goal with this set up was 4 ghz on air, maybe move to water. as for my power unit im pretty sure its for ATX only saw 400W as mATX, its rated for crossfire/sli so i dont see that being an issue. ya as for my gpu, i would like good overclock potential and somthing to CF in the future. as for the cpu bottleneck im not sure, probably will be a bottleneck with CF eh?

edit: case fits ATX boards
also heres the PSU review from TD (just scroll down)

Ok, i would suggest the AMD 6870 for you. Might be slower than a 5870, but it can sure as hell tesselate better in the next up and coming games.

cool ya ill look into them, haven't really played around with graphics cards much, only ram and cpu. so im not up to speed with gpus these days, ie the tesselate etc. but i would be looking to overclock it and CF so if i can stabilize at 4.0 + Ghz do you think there wont be a bottleneck?

At 4Ghz and CF no. How many cores does your CPU have and what is it's current speed? I can advice you on a graphics card
