ASUS gtx 480 software question

Thread Starter
So, i just got back from USMC bootcamp so Ive been out of the tech loop for a good 3 months.

My rig had a 480 from EVGA and i wanted an immediate SLI solution instead of waiting on shipping so I bought the only available 480 from Fry's in town, which happened to be an ASUS.

I know SLI doesnt care about brand, just chip, but Asus included an overvolting/clocking tool with theirs and I had a question.

Would I be able to use this software on both cards or only the Asus? Therefore making it useless if I cant apply it to both for Sli purposes. the EVGA is the superclocked model fyi.

Thanks all

I would definitely recommend MSI afterburner or EVGA precision for all your gpu overclocking needs. Regardless of both the names of the software, IIRC they work on all cards even ati

^This. Most people prefer either of these two. Both are very easy to use, but I like MSI Afterburner better because of great it's support and frequent updates.

In addition, fan Profiling is very easy to use on both, which is a great plus.

very good, I currently use afterburner to keep the fans always on the move depending on temps. Thanks guys, I just didnt know if it depended on the cards bios or whatever for which software it could use. See? I've lost my touch getting blasted by freaking DI's all year haha.
