Solo is very very easy now. You can reach cap in a week or 2. You level in alliances killing everything as opposed to parties now. Most level capped missions are uncapped now meaning you can go through ToAU, WotG, etc.. solo.

Interesting. Hopefully this works out and gives me a little bit of a time killer. Found that the ffxi site actually issues trial accounts, so I registered for one and am downloading the client now smile.gif

Omg... I had forgotten how cludgy the interface is. I couldn't figure out how to log out this morning, so I did the ctrlaltdel+kill method :b

I forgot I used to use the card that shipped with it describing what all the numpad keys do. This is going to be fun to get used to. I also need to figure out how to either run in windowed mode or increase the resolution. Looks incredibly blocky on my large monitor :I

Also, change the aspect ratio under Config.

Quickest way to start out leveling without having a subjob: start with Monk (MNK).

I finally came back to FFXI but Im having problems with driver crashes. Any time I do a spell or summon it crashes. From what I read on other forums people are having the same problem Im having with the new 600 series. Looks like is not suported yet. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

I use a GTX680. Are you using windower or the FFXI windowed view? Turn off weather effects, shadows and footsteps. That's what I did and those crashes stopped. Hope this helps.

Im using full screen mode and all effects on. I know for sure it crashes with or without window view. Ill try with no effects when I get home tonight but I bet its going to look like crap. Thanks for the tip.
