Thread Starter
So last night I rebooted my computer with my itouch plugged in and now my usb drivers are not working, i know this because keyboard works fine in bios but not when windows is booted. So i bought a PS/2 USB adapter for my keyboard and mouse but they both dont work. I was wondering how would i enable them in the BIOS or anywhere else I should enable them. Please help ASAP!!!!!!!

You realize that USB to PS/2 adapters (I'm assuming that's what you meant, instead of PS/2 to USB), to try to use a USB keyboard in a PS/2 port, only work if the keyboard has ps/2 compatible circuitry in it, right? Many keyboards that are PS/2 hardware compatible come with their own adapter. If the keyboard's hardware controller isn't compatible with the PS/2 port, then an adapter won't work--you'll have to actually buy a much more expensive adapter that has its own circuitry in it (which may cost $20-$30), instead of those little $5 adapter plugs.

So your USB keyboard works to change bios settings right? And Windows doesn't recognize any USB devices at all?

Since you obviously can't try to fix the drivers while in Windows, try this:

Go into your bios and check your USB settings. In my bios, my USB settings are in the "Integrated Peripherals" menu. Yours should be under something similar to that. I'm not sure what your exact USB settings are but you should at least have the option to enable/disable OnChip USB, USB Keyboard support and USB Mouse support. You might also have an option to enable or disable legacy USB mode.

How are your USB settings set?

You might try disabling USB all together and loading Windows. Then, restart your PC and enable USB and load Windows again. Doing that should make Windows install the USB drivers.

Good Luck!
