Gotta say, absolutely beautiful job on the modding and the photos as well. You have really taken the time to show the rest of us your work and it is appreciated.

I bet you are going to get a lot of questions on the A5 unit from this! That looks to be a very sweet unit to use for geting all the information that you could ever want from your build.
Thanks for taking the time to do this writeup.

Well if you into (either one or more):
- monitoring flow, temps, FANs at once (8 sensing points + flow)
- controlling your fans revs factoring in temps around your rig (water, CPU, GPU etc..) to get optimal silence/ dissipation ratio
- securely switch off your rig in the (rare) event of a failure somewhere that gets thinhgs out of control
- others...

than A5 is a device def to look into

Let me know if that was what you were looking for

yes I did

The temperature monitoring is only through the external sensors (your yellow sleeved cables) or there is something that you can water temperature... I'd love to have such a feature.

I'll do a few googlies and see what I can find about that thing & its cost

Thanks for the pictures and all the additional information that you give, it really helps (more than pictures and the actually modding itself )

The AQ5 really suits your build.

...aouch !

Sensors are all "external" attached to the unit (up to 8x) via 2P headers (see pics)

Currently there are analogue sensors available for measuring temperatures
air (or surfaces that are close to them) and or/ water
(those latter ones are like little pass-through fittings with a sensor in them)

See as example here:
Air/Surface Temp Sensor 2P
and here
Water Temp Sensor 2P

There is also a header 3P for a water flow meter
(e.g. the Aquacomputer Flow sensor High Flow which u can see in my pics at the right side attached behind HD cage)
See here
Water Flow Meter 3P

in future there will be also digital sensors even if i don't know exactly what those would measure...

For prices you may look here (close to you)
Aquacomputer USA and Canada

Update on the LED control PCB i had introduced some time back...
...i have worked on a customized PCB to control from the Aquaero with two leads from the 12V PWM "relays" LED stripes and a set of LEDs (2v 20ma 5000mca)
That would allow to turn them on and off from the A5 controller via sw and /or keys

I made the PCB with a small Stripeboard that is tiny enough to seat right to front fan intake

I started by drawing a sketch of how it would look like

There are plugs fo 7x LED stripes are (natively 12v) from lane A
and 5x 2V LEDs (2.2v nominal; 20ma; 5000mcd) from lane B
As you can see all LED plugs are series with a 480 Ohm /0.25W resistor each to limit the current to 20ma at 12V source

Here are few small PCB and connectors plus a stripe cutter hand tool that i will use to cur each LED header (for the resistors to be in series to each)

assembled (took 15 min)

back of it

pleas note each LED header has its own lane to provide the 2V via resistor

let's test all lanes with a spare PSU

all ok go

now we need to find a house for it...and this block looks comfy

here it goes in the house

it's ready for deployment!

P.S. Worth to mention that stripeboards like this would be ideal to connect array of fans and come out with a single connector with power and RPM...

I have prepared the cables to connect to the Aquaero5 (lane A and B for the 12V PWM relays 16Khz) in red (colour-x) and two led headers in gray

tested

and these are the connectors that go into the Aquaero5 relay ports

from the A5 unit it is possible to control power (or simple swithc on/off) and even create own scripts to make light effects...
