not true, its a little bit bigger than that....read a newspaper sometime and you will see why our economy is in hurt mode right now.

well, the setup you described is not bad at all in my opinion at least.. and you could allways upgrade parts as you go along, only problem would be the cpu socket... but just make sure the motherboard you purchase is fitted with a am3+ socket, i've read that asus among others are refitting their current mobos with the new sockets, and if amd's future cpu's are backward compatible with the am3+ for as long as their current cpu's has been with the am2+/am3, you should be set for a long time

as of convincing your parrents... computers is not the future it is the now! for work, education, social networking, hell twitter and facepoop played a part of the recent regime change in big parts of africa.. getting a new computer is not only for entertaining it is the only responsible choice for the further envolvement of the political minded youth!!.. there you go!
Getting a new computer=patriotism

They are but very few retailers have AM3+. Newegg has like 1 and it's very limited with a single pcie x16. The asus boards are supposed to be like "bd ready" so once the new chips come out all you need is a bios flash. Cant wait
