Now, c'mon, 850W PSU's? For real? I just dont see it.

Well in your OP you state you will be running one high end Nvidia GPU (570, 580 or 590) with the option for a second.

As some people have stated you are going to want at least 750w for a dual 580 setup, higher if you want to OC.

650w should be fine 750w to allow for some overclock but dont see that you would need 850.

If your going red for the processor why go green for the gpu?

the red cards are running at a fair bit lower TDP better temps and in most categories give better $/performance than green right now. Will hopefully change with the new 6xx cards new architecture.

also hold off too much judgement on buying a BD rig till you see the figures there is allot of hype about, you may find you dont want to go bulldozer at all and that sandyballs still offers the best price/performance.

Thread Starter
So, I've changed my requirments a bit to more realistically reflect the real outcome of the build.

Basically, I want to be able to use any single GPU solution of my choice, now or in the near future. And I will be overclocking. So I'm thinking 750W right now and looking at Corsair and Seasonic 750 models.

What you guys think?

same As above 650w is more than ample for a single gpu build even with some sick overclock. but anything by seasonic or corsair should be good, plenty of people oeming from seasonic at the moment think the antec earthwats might be the cheapest seasonic at that size but not sure.

Any, and I mean *ANY* single GPU setup will run on a quality 550W PSU.
