Trusty earbuds broke. Recommend me some new ones!

Had a set of Altec Lansing earbuds that I kept in my pocket 24/7 for the past two years. They sounded great and were not too expensive. They broke and are not made anymore. frown.gif

Looking for a set in the $30 range that sound great and will withstand staying in my pocket for a few years like the old ones did!

Let me know what you guys recommend!

I have had a set of the low end SkullCandy (haters gon' hate) buds for about 4 months and they have lasted. Got them because they look cool and they put out loud and good sound. My last ones broke after a couple months (Most likely moisture related) but these new models seem to be much better. Only 20 or so dollars.

Edit: Also, just wanted to mention how awesome your profile picture is thumbsupsmiley.png

I would definitely recommend any Skullcandy. I had a pair of their lower end Ink'd earbuds that came with a satin pouch for 20 bucks. They lasted a good 2 years in my pockets virtually every day and I accidentally sent them through the washing machine once and then the wash and dry on a separate occasion once; they lasted a full year after the wash and dry session.
I have a pair of their Full metal Jackets that still work but I don't use because I left them in the car on a hot Georgia summer day and it changed the consistency of the rubber coating on the chord and it peels off.
And I currently have a pair of Titans still going strong 4 months shy of two years.
So I would recommend these:

I don't know if these will, but mine came with an awesome mesh/ plastic covered in cloth case you can keep them in.

I would NOT recommend skullcandy. Their sound on their earbuds is not that good.

Get a pair of JVC marshmallows. They're the best 20 dollar earbuds I've ever tried and I've tried a LOT.

Except the Meelectronics M9 and M6 are both much better than the JVC Marshmallows. I have had all three.

How do you think the skull candys sound? I have listened to some of their full size headphones and was not too impressed but I have never heard a set of their earbuds.

I second the M6 nomination

All the skullcandys I've had sound great; nice low end punch and piercing highs great for metal and other heavy music. the JVC mallows look like they'd be complete garbage.
But I bought smokin buds for my girlfriend last semester and they didn't sound as good as my Titans or my old FMJ; they also didn't last long but she didn't treat them well
