Stupid STech External Drive is read only..

Hey guys,

I have been having this problem with my stech external drive for months now. Aanyways, many times when I try to delete or add a file off it, Windows says its read-only, however when I restart the computer it goes back to read/write, but a few hours later same problem. I have tried doing a format through windows 7, but it still has the same problems.

Is it because I hooked up the external drive to a usb hub? What software should I use to fully format this retarded thing and get it working the way it should again?

That sounds way too difficult. do you think its cause i have it hooked up to a usb hub as opposed to directly to the computer so its receiving limited power? Can anyone recommend me a good format software

It could be a power issue but I doubt it.
Go to my computer>Right click your drive>Properties
Then security>make sure you have full access to the drive.

To format use windows format utility
Start and type Computer Management and hit enter
Then click disc management> Right click your drive and format.
