[BBC] Are colour blind gamers left out? - Page 3

Umm, I moved the sliders for the first two pictures and noticed no difference (Although the third was quite obvious). Are these difference supposed to be very minor? Or should I go see my eye doctor...
uh I notice no difference in the slider in the OP

I am color blind. I saw almost no difference between the first two images, although the last one was rather drastic. Well, in the first two images, when I drag the slider I see that it changes but I can't even tell what is different. Although I haven't had much of any trouble that I can remember in any games except for some of those color matching games and stuff like that. But FPS and action/adventure games haven't been any problem for me.

Give yourself a little self test http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/ishihara.asp. There are others on the web if you are curious.

I'm not colour blind but I do have a genetical eyesight condition and often end up shooting my team mates in COD. Often the only way I can tell is their uniform and sometimes you end up where both teams have similar uniforms...

Also I can't use the UAV/radar at all and so have disabled it in Black ops (would have in MW2 as well but there isn't a way). The only way I find people is via sound. Possible one of the best sound whores I know.

This is exactly what I was thinking about when I saw the pics in the OP. Like the colorblind screenshot in the second game actually looked a bit more bad ass than the original. If color blind modes work like this in games, I might actually try them out. biggrin.gif

On topic, I know there are definitely games that do have colorblind modes - maybe not all of them, but a decent amount of them for sure.

LOL. I love how people might be figuring out the possible fact that they're colorblind.

Well, actually, that sort of sucks. :/

I find sometimes the colour blind modes are annoying, such as some games where it labels all the colours so you can read them. They need to make it so you can make the adjustment for the type of colour blind you are.

I'm not monochromatic and I've never met someone who is.

I'm like part of both of the common ones (Protanopia and Deuteranopia, and I can see partial differences when I move the sliders, except for the last one which is damn near monochromatic with red)

not really, if you saw colour for most of your life then lost it, then it would suck. ignorance is bliss
