I've always thought the colorblind were the people who spelled color 'colour'...

No, really though... i can't imagine not being able to enjoy those vibrant colors in my Mario games

+1 to all the colorblind people who still do good in games

Side note; if the ratio is so high, maybe color blindness is part of the reason why the Killzone 2/3 VS Uncharted 2 VS God of War 3 VS Crysis 1/2 "BEST GRAPHICS" debate is so incredibly heated. Me personally, i distinctly prefer games with more color as i find color insanely beautiful. Hence the term "Eye Candy" ... candy stores are ususally the most colorful places in the world!

I'd be for incorporating balancing mechanisms. I have red-green color blindness which is the most common type. That said it HARDLY affects my daily life, it's a very small thing and I often forget I have it.

it's not 1/20 men which have it though, rather it's 7-10%, that's between 1/10 - 1/15. For females, it's closer to 1/100 - 1/200.

That said there ARE upsides. I can see some things normal people cannot. I'm also much more capable of seeing in low light conditions and can pick up motion a little more easily. Often times while green might look more brown to me, I am more capable of differentiating between shades of khaki.

The real question is why don't they incorporate things which help the games balance out? add a slight outline around enemies (helps with ADHD too) while they move. Use colors which are more friendly... like blue.

While I'm going to say that it's impractical to work towards making it PERFECT for everyone, it should be possible to get it good enough for 99% without increasing production costs by more than a small fraction of a percent.

I'm not color blind at all and I didn't even notice that color change at first. I was watching the slider instead of the picture and looked down to see no change.

Fully color blind people tend to be extremely sensitive to high lights and you'll likely be able to recognize them. Back when i was in middle school a friend of mine always wore these huge funky shaded goggles to make sure no excessive sunlight go into his eyes.
So he got to look like he was a character from a video game all the time? Sounds semi-awesome. I would have totally claimed credit for writers basing Riddick on me.

Anyway, its usually more than just a colour designating teams, and even then it depends on the individual in question as to whether or not they can distinguish between colours.
It has a colorblind mode that works for the radar, but I still have trouble spotting people who are sitting in grass lol. With that said, I still come near the top of the boards generally.
