Possible PSU upgrade?

Thread Starter
So I'm thinking about going SLI on my sig rig...I know my current PSU should be able to handle it but I have a few issues with my current PSU
1) It does not have enough PCIE connectors for SLI 460's
2) The 4pin cpu power cable is not long enough and i have to stretch it across my mobo which is ugly and borderline dangerous.

So, I guess thats a good enough excuse to start looking at a new one, and I'm inviting everyone here to help me decide where to waste my money this time!

What PSU should i replace my ocz modxstream 600 watt with? It must have enough 12v power to run SLI 460's (1 gig) and lots of extra goodies like excessive amounts of case fans (6x120mm) and a 12 inch cold cathode.

BUDGET = under 100 shipped (united states)
I don't care where it comes from as long as its brand new...and I'm patient, I don't need it till late may but I want to have my mind made up soon.

Get the Antec earth watts 750 semi Modular. (EA750W)

I ran GTX 470 SLI with 4GHz i7 with this thing!

Check this out. half the people on OCN use these. Including me. It's a CPU extension cable.

It's a good supply. It's barely an "Earthwatts". Earthwatts are cheap but decent, but the 750W is a lot better quality.

The Earthwatts 750 is one of the best power supplies. far better than it's older earthwatt family. Like i said, this PSU ran GTX470 SLI overclocked, watercooling, i7 920 4GHz ect!

The EA750 isn't that great really. The high ripple at high loads puts it behind even the Corsair TX750, which itself is meh by today's standards.
It's too bad the Antec TP-750, which is an enormously better unit, 1) is out of stock at Newegg, and 2) got its price raised from $89.99 to $99.99.
I'd actually consider the Corsair TX750 over the EA750, but the best value I can see right now on Newegg is the XFX Core Edition 750W.

*cough* *whisper* Quick before Phaedrus sees you recommending XFX supplies...run!

I don't have a problem with XFX. They are good supplies.

XFX units are good and made by seasonic, the problem is XFX's RMA department is allegedly bad.
