What's happening in 18 months??

I could think of a number of things but namely a few that really have no (real) consequence on your hardware;

Elections (Ahem.. presidential and otherwise here in the US)
2012 (I'm prepared...)

But joking aside the reference was to Moore's law which still hasn't (in effect) failed yet if you believe that it will hold up (and it will) until about 2013~2015 depending on economics.

18 months, get ready.

Anyway, I fire up FSX with frame rates now over 80-100 and the game still looks pretty much like crap. Not because of the system, but rather the game itself. Oops. I crossfired these 2 GPU's and FSX doesn't even push it enough to kick the 2nd card in. Soooo...if your like me...my system should last a very, very, very long time with minimum upgrades.
I Hope MSFlight really delivers graphically... I don't quite buy the teaser video they released but one can only hope.

I too built my rig for fsx, To make the most out of it you really need to download and install real environment extreme and ground environment extreme, and also search for "jesus fsx cfg" in google and replace your current cfg file for this one.

Sli wont work with fsx, but it can eat the best of cpus on max detail with addons

Fsx for me now looks like a completely diffrent game with stunning graphics and detail.

A piece of hardware should only be replaced if it’s about to stop working (whether it’s worn-out or just not up to challenges that didn’t exist when you first bought it) or if the new one can transform the way you work. Otherwise, you’re just being a big, dopey consumer.
