Thread Starter
Hi people, I have 850watt power supply and any time i try to play a game my pc cut's off and i have to turn the switch on the power supply off for about 30 second's before it will start again. I have ati 6870 and even tried my old gtx 260 and the same thing happens. I'm thinking it's a bad power supply but was thinking maybe someone else may have had this problem PLEASE HELP!!

Return your cpu and anything else to stock speeds/voltages and see what happens.

You could also try a cpu stress program to see if anything happens while stressing only the cpu. You could also do the same thing for the gpu.

More than likely though, it sounds like a bad PSU.

I have tried a cpu stress test with no problem but cpu is 140watts. Any time i put any type of load on my graphics card my pc cuts out like someone were unplugging it. Both my ati 6870 and gtx 260 are about 225watts. I have also return my pc to stock speed. I think it's a as well but my kingwin 850 watt PSU is like 6-8 months old. Thank for your help.

It could be a bad PSU or a bad motherboard. Do you have a UPS?

You have a Kingwin Lazer right? 850W on that PSU is way overkill for a 6870. It is enough power.

It's your PSU.

sounds like your psu is on the way out

but
double check the power connectors are pushed in properly into the card.
