get a CD boot error 5 when trying to install windows 7

All

I am getting a CD boot error 5, when trying to install windows 7 on an older computer. I boot to the disk and I get that error. I am trying to install on a custom assembled computer that is running Windows XP Pro right now. A Soyo SY-P4VTE Socket 478

this is the motherboard Im using.

only thing i could think of is if u have a extra hard drive try using it in the old machine to put 7 on and than once u do format the drive with xp on it

oh also windows 7 has issues were it trys to boot from the A drive(floopy) even when there isnt one installed it has to be deactivated in bios but thats not ur issue right now i dont think,if u wana take a chance there is free software u can download to formatt ur hard drive from the bios like seatools etc

yep thats what I did,I had XP on a HDD, then took a spare 80 gb HDD and tried loading it to that after formatting but got that error. I had it set to boot from the DVD drive.

Are you using a DVD in a CD drive? You said older computer.

If you have a big enough USB drive give this a try. That is if your old computer can boot from USB, which it should.

when i go into bios I have the option to boot to USB: USB RMD-HDD, USB RMD-FDD, USB-HDD, USB-CDROM, USB FDD.

Im guessing its going to be USB-HDD

did u dissconnect the hdd with xp on it? try booting from windows 7 cd with just the blank 80gig hdd installed,if u already did im kinda stumped,would anyone suggest taken out the cmos battery for a bios reset?

wait i dont even see a cmos battery in the link pic thats weird? im if ur useng just the blank hdd and dont have the hdd with xp hooked up i dont get wat the deal is,never seen that mobo before,im just taking a guess here but maybe somekind of cmos jumpers anyone with more xperience?im a lil lost here lol sorry if u dont get an answear here id try toms hardware forum there ussally better at this type of stuff sorry
