AX850 enough? - Page 2

Antec TPN 750 unless you're going to overclock the video cards very high (not a good idea with 570's).

Not even necessary for 580 SLi. They will pull ~ 250w each in games heavily OC'd plus 100w+ for an OC'd CPU will leave him around 700w total GAMING load.

But I could be wrong.
GTX 580 SLI uses around 600-650W DC in typical games... I usually only estimate power requirements based on worse case scenario (for example, LinX + Furmark simultaneously).

IIRC the AX750 is only like $10 or so less than the AX850 so there really isnt any point in getting the 750 of that series over the 850

Thread Starter
Thanks alot all, I'm considering going 580 sli instead, but I'm not sure if the performance gain is worth the price, since the 570's are significantly cheaper.
I'm really glad I wont have to go higher on the PSU, since that will help me get the 2nd SSD for RAID 0, its pretty tough building a machine of this level on a students budget.

Oh btw, what's your overall opinion of the rig?
Anything I should change?

Thanks again
