Yeah a I7-970 6 core can be had for around $550.00 us
and a I7-960 4 core $300us ! Man i got my I7-950 for $200 freakin luv that thing!!

Sorry but technology is leaping ahead to where it's easier to do things that used to take hours upon hours to do, and turning it into minutes. Rather spend less time configuring a cpu for stability and jump straight into a game and start killing my foes
Its all about preference.I like the tweaking, its a past-time/hobby,thats the problem with this world, soon everything will be so easy we wont need to use our brains or limb's,you might well lol,but if you have seen Disney's Wall-E,we may very well become lazy good for nothing soft blob's,if we all start gradually sinking into let the tech do it.I love technology dont get me wrong, but when technology takes away a task that you enjoy, then what?

If you don't want 1155, don't get 1366. Just wait for bulldozer.

As far as i was aware OCN was a place people can speak freely and ask advice, and yes sometimes get some help with decision making from people who know what they are talking about, obviously you are an outsider in that department and just a fanboy troll.

Just make your own choice, in the end it's what you'll go with. If you want to 'jump ship' then do so. Shouldn't need others to make your decision for you. Granted, it's nice to have feed back from either side.. But, I will ask one question. Why is it so tortuous for you to wait? With that being said, I think you'll make a decision based on what you want.

I don't think I can help you much, but I have been thinking the same thing
However, my choice would be 2600k, its got HT and unlocked

What I am going to do is wait for Bulldozer and then decide

How many future CPU generations will use 1155?
Will AM3+ last as long as AM2+ did?

The waiting is mainly so bad as my desk i plan to make that will house the components will be tailor made around the components used.I have read that 990FX boards will support native SLI,this is good news for me as the Gainward 570 Phantom is begging to be bought, its one damn tasty looking card, lol, looks for this build are just as important as performance,i'll have to sacrafice certain things but the outcome should be more pleasing.Ideally i would get ATI6970,just cant see any designs to fit the overall athsetics of desired result. It does'nt make sense right now,but the end product will compound what i'm saying.I most likely will wait as i know it would be the sensible option,to be fair though a few AMD user's have switched due to what seems like an endless wait,it better be worth it thats for sure.
