Ummm. I'm going to take a wild guess here and assume that you're talking about my post. If I was referring to you, I would have quoted your post so ease it back a notch there bro, it's only a forum and nobody should take anything here personal.

Maybe just a coincidence, but I ordered a Samsung hard drive from Newegg and was DoA. I ended up grabbing a WD.

It is not ad hominem remark. If you do not understand computer architecture, then I cannot talk about system design....

It is like a PC repair guy vs processor design guy.... they understand different aspects.

That is the problem, people are not continuing to buy those samsung harddrive because their hard drive continue to work....

In order for samsung to make money on harddrive, people need to buy their stuff, so there is easier way to do it... to be like Seagate, make crappy hard drive, and people continue to buy the same crappy hard drive

I do like Samsung drives. My LaCie 500GB external HDD is a Samsung inside, and my sigrig uses a Samsung HDD.

Seagate, however.... :l I've got 3. One is dead, one is very noisy and slowly dying, and the third is working fine.

Oh no. It seems I need to put off water cooling to finish loading my NAS with F4's before the true Samsung versions are gone from the shelves.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I will keen at the death of the HDD in favor of SSD's. Just a guess, but I'll wager storage prices will go through the roof. I'd love to have 12+ TB of SSD storage when it happens. I just don't see it being that affordable in the next 3-5 years to do so. On that point, I hope I'm wrong.
