Power supply approval necessary

Building the following system:

i7 2600k
Asus P8P67 deluxe
MSI GTX560 Ti
G.Skill DDR3 1600MHz
Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB

I'd say for some good overclocking headroom I should go for a quality 650w, but it needs to be as cheap as possible because I'm already over budget. I've been looking at:
Seasonic S12II ($80) (link)
XFX 650w ($89) (link)
Corsair CMPSU-650TX ($90) (link)

I say Go for the corsair, it'll be enough even for ovrclocking, might even be enoigh for sli pushing it though but still possible

I recommend the Antec Neo Eco 520C -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371030
It's a SeaSonic S12II 520, except considerably cheaper. It'll be more than enough for your system, even with overclocking.

The Corsair VX550 is terribly overpriced and outdated.

Here is a few more to throw in the pot....
Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-620 620W
Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W
Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W

The Antec HCG series are based on the Seasonic S12II platform.Review here The Antec TPN is a rebadged M12II. Antec took both of these designs and switched out the group voltage regulation in favor of independent regulation, allowing for lower voltage spikes during crossload tests. The Seasonic units both perform very well in these tests though, since Seasonic beefed up the internals just for this. The Antecs just provide better tech at a slightly lower price.

Rosewill is putting out some decent units, especially at that price point. Review here.

Honestly, you don't need that much power. A good 500-600W unit would work just fine, and still give you plenty of room for OC.

Happy to see someone else from our fair city.

Thank you for all your suggestions everyone, I think I'm going to go with the Antec TPN that spaceballsrules posted Cheaper and looks to be the same if not better quality than the ones I posted.

Woohoo Raleigh, are you ITB or OTB? Were you anywhere close to the tornado? Hope all is well.

PS: rep+ to all.

The TPN units are solid. It's a good choice.

Yeah, I was in Cary when it all happened, and apparently 2 of the tornadoes touched down within a mile of me. Also had flash flooding from the stream that runs behind my place, but luckily no water in the home, storm damage, or injuries to anyone I know. There is just a lot of insulation material all over the place. Thanks for asking. I hope you and yours fared as well.
