So why has it been used 99% of the time when benchmark sites AND OCN test new cards?

And lol @ the insinuation that the Spinpoint F3 "lags" in 3dmark06. Funny stuff.

Laughing gas?
That question is as thin as the question why Beiber is famous.

3DMark is a MHz whore that benefits from CPU more than anything.

I made a test long ago with my Q6600 and 8800GTX SLI rig.
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz 8800GTX SLI Score: 12902
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz 8800GTX non-SLI Score: 12116

Yet Lost Planet showed close to double the frame rate with 16xAA/AF with SLI over the non-SLI configuration at 1920*1200 with the Q6600 at 2.4GHz.

not 3DMark 11

although if what u said is true, then i find it ridiculous that something called 3DMark is testing the CPU instead of the GPU.

Slightly OT...how do people feel about the new "don't have to uninstall old drivers" install software? Do folks still do the uninstall/driver sweep/install-new-drivers thing? Or do we trust nvidia driver installation to get rid of the old and then install the new (which is my understanding of the new driver installation software)? Did using 3rd party software to clean out remnants of old drivers really become unnecessary, at least in most cases?

Nvidia has a full driver uninstaller option. Just use Driversweeper if you experience problems when installing a new graphics card.

I get like 50+ FPS, I wonder why you get 30?

HAHA, me too. I was going to record a quick fraps vid showing FPS and got like 30-45 fps, and then realized SLI wasn't enabled, lol.
