[Toms] Intel and Micron Announce 20nm NAND Flash

Intel's G3 SSDs may be the new hotness, but the company announced along with Micron that it has made a new, finer 20nm process technology for manufacturing NAND flash memory. The new 20nm process produces an 8 GB multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash device.

I think once SSDs hit the $149 range for 250GB then people will start replacing their optical drives for long-term storage.

wot? who uses optical for long term storage? I just use spare spindle HDD's.. 2TB for $99.
