Q8400 Upgrade - Page 3

Drop by MicroCenter in Tustin if you can. $90 can get you a e7500. I personally have one with a 9800GT also. It runs games like Mass Effect 2 Max Settings. e.g: 16x filtering etc.

On another note, i will start building my AMD system in 2 months. One thing i like about AMD, i can build a beast and still build one under 500 bucks, which i am going for. Going to buy a 550ti( the one with 1000 core clock ) to go along with it tho. Anyways, i will let you guys know how well it works tomorrow night.

peace
Hmm ? Now you lost me there.

A 550ti is slower than a Radeon HD6850. It's only as fast an HD5770.

And what AMD system are you going to build in 2 months ? I hope it's a Bulldozer. THe current Phenoms are not much better once you overclock your future Q6600 to 3 Ghz (it's probably doable on your board, given the Q6600 has a lower FSB of 1066, should be able to go to 1333, as it already does with non-OC CPU's.)

I have a 5750. But anyways, i plan on having 2 rigs, one Intel System and one Amd System. With the AMD system , i plan to buy a 550ti, the one with 1000 core clock, by zotac i think. The 6850 is going to go with my Q6600 intel system.

Here is what i got all for 80(95) bucks.

Custom Built Computer with 1TB Hard drive, a new Case ( Thermaltake SopranoRS VG7000BWS Black SECC ), a new MB which is from HP i think, i have to check that soon. And with a Q6600 and a new PSU. And he threw in 4gb of memory. So for all of this, only 95 bucks. It was 80, but i threw in some extra because he put in new stuff. Not bad IMO. I haven't tested anything. Installing software right now, but i plan on testing games soon, so i will report back soon.

On another note, The OS he added is called Windows 7 Extreme Edition RC1.

That OS does not exist. Beware of pirated software and viruses.

The one thing closes to it is Windows 7 Ultimate.

But anyway, if it's RC1 it's been ilegally hacked to work after Windows 7's release. The Beta and Release Candidate version (by the way, there was only one Beta and one RC version, and it was called "RC", which is another indication that OS is completely thrashed.).

What brand is the PSU and what wattage ?

What Chipset does the MB have ? What brand is the RAM, speed and timings ?

And the HDD's brand ?

Some people would have paid 95 bucks (65 Euros) for the CPU alone where I'm from, so it's a good deal nonetheless, even if the rest turns out not so good.

Yea i know its pirated, but i didn't ask him to do that. He has a legal Computer shop in a mall, he just builds computers the way he wants and i was kinda shock to see it, but hey it works just fine. No viruses, but i had to get rid of the crap software and everything works great

I have an official windows 7 disc which i bought last year, so no worries if this OS has issues.

I have no idea what the hell it is, it says RGS on it, series w/ 550 W PSU. I added a molex thing to it, to make my 5750 work. But i have a Thermaltake 430w PSU for backup. I just didn't feel like installing it. I don't have alot of crap in my Computer so no worries. I only have one DVD drive and one HDD.

Yea its a nice CPU shop, good friend too. I plan on going high end when i build my main gaming rig, the AMD system, so he says he can order what i like and he will give me a fair deal. Which sounds good.
