You do realize that polygons have little to do with the difference in graphical fidelity between PC and Consoles right?
Polygons make relatively little difference, especially this generation where the amount of polygons on-screen has a diminishing effect on fidelity and performance. The important aspects are shader pipelines and resolution. Realistic shaders depends on programming, not necessarily resources in this case so there isn't really a difference between Consoles and PC in terms of shaders.
The main difference between the two platforms is resolution(texture and frame buffer). Consoles lack main memory to have large amounts of textures which is the reason why Crytek is lobbying for 8GB of RAM. Even Epic games lobbied for 512MB inside the Xbox 360.
