I have been toying with the idea of Nvidia Surround....My only issue with it is the gaps between the screens...If you can find nice monitors with little to no gaps then that is the way to go...My dream setup of course would be 3 projectors...but whos got that kind of space and money....

Remember when a good game was defined by if it forced you to upgrade your hardware....

Now I think I am going to have to upgrade my house...HAHA...

Eyefinity is really cool, I've used it a couple times before.
But a single big 120Hz monitor is definitely a really good idea considering you have a 6990, I'd go with the higher 2560x1080 monitors.
I have a single 60Hz monitor and I feel pretty limited, I can never do 3d with this monitor, and if I don't sync my framerate games start to look pretty weird.

My main setback for a three monitor set up is that I have a very small desk, I can barely fit my single 21.5 inch monitor.

This.

OP, if you aren't interested in 3D, you should get an IPS screen.
To name a few options:

Dell U2311h (could go dual monitor with that budget)
Dell U2410h (not that good for competitive FPS gaming)
Dell U2711h (2560x1440 resolution, need I say more? )

So single hi-res?
I heard about the new samsung 950 its 3d (not nvida), I can't use any nvida powered 3d monitors because radeon and nvdia 3d arnt compatible so I think this is a good choice or should I drop 3d and go with a super hi-res dell?
Thanks

Just go with the super hi-res Dell like a U2711h. I'm going to be grabbing one here in the near future after I upgrade the GPU
