I'm never gonna any hardcore gaming on the road, just some simple stuff.maybe civ and maybe some source games.i read the intel holds up pretty good. Resolution will be at 1080p but max strings won't be necessary,

Think it is worth it? I probably wont play a lot, but I will a little. Mostly it will be used for visual studio work. my budget is $1000, originally i was thinking macbook air, but i looked at the specs and abandoned that idea. I then saw the CLevo laptops and thought they were great deal. at $800 it is a great deal but I like the option of playing, when I go to the casino, a lot of times I run out of cash before I am tired, so a nice laptop comes into play, I would like to see some benchmarks, but I can't find any. Thanks for the help

With a $200+ price difference and all you want to do is play Source and Civilization, I say go for the Integrated part.

Here are some benchmarks of it:
Quote:
BC2 1366x768medium 25.4 fps
StarC 2 1360x768medium20.4 fps
L4D 1024x768very high 69.3 fps

Any GPU? Unlikely the Intel HD 3000 series beats several low end dedicated graphics, and damn near rivals the 320M.

OP keep in mind the HD 3000 is fairly powerful for being integrated but at 1920x1080 it can suffer something hard due to the increase in render models, and if your dumb enough to enable shadows it will slow it to a crawl.
I am able to play league of legends at 1920x1080 with high, but as soon as a fight comes on it slows down massively. So I have to leave it at low settings, and even then I get obnoxious frame skipping.

I think that the larger screen makes up for the price a lot. I think a 17 inch laptop would be beneficial. I think that with the gt540m I would be able to keep it longer. Thanks. The 17 inch comes out to 1019 shipped. I found a coupon, 5% off. I can't wait till it is in my hands!
