So you may need to upgrade the mobo as well. This is where I got info from http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...hase-list.html
I figured that woulds be the case

Or be a little patient save you're money and buy a Bulldozer once they are released, then you can probably ride that bulldozer across the sandybridge. & let the competitions for AMD vs. Intel begin
I like sandy bridge in fact since I have the worlds greatest job I get to spend my bosses money crossing that bridge today...back and forth three or four times

I live about an hour and some change from MC, but I work about 20 minutes away...

yes and yes... I'm glad you're so understanding
luckily being a hybrid jew I can really go either way
and for all the other comments about sandy bridge and bulldozer. I would love to, but bulldozer Im impatient and sandy bridge when it's my money I guess Im still a little leery of it but realistically teh only thing that kept me from buying the 2500k was limited number of thread... since not only do I want to OC my pc, i really will be using it for some mid range to hard core cad so the more threads the better
on that note last night I did something Im sure is completely foolish...
bought an asus maximus III mATX 1156 board...no idea, absolutely no idea why
good news is I do live close to mc so an i7 870 is only 230 bucks
and sorry it took me a couple of days to figure out this forum
