since you don't need a big SSD for this, you could probably get away with a 16gb single layer cell (SLC) ssd which lasts MUCH longer and has much faster read/writes than the MLC ssd's that most people use in their rigs

And how many people who won't like tweaking will bother to research the SSD caching, and then buy components that allow them to set it up, then spend time setting it up, and then accept the idea that they just shelled out for a hard drive and an SSD, only to find that they just show up as a single drive in the system?

Can't see this becoming mainstream...
