[Eng] Samsung sells HDD division to Seagate for $1.375 billion - Page 7

I've been a Samsung HDD user for over 10 years and 2 of my 40GB IDE100 Samsng HDD are still running on my HTPC in RAID0 and they're still going strong. No bad sectors and what not. /end Samsung HDD experience

Here in Toronto Samsung drives are hard to get by as they're either out of stock or there is no demand for them...looks like Samsung wants a share of the market IMHO.

Well I'm keeping my hopes up that Seagate will improve their HDD quality as I have bad experiences with their HDDs...the experiences are so bad that it made me move away from their brand...but their Hybrid Drives are pretty good as I have some Momentus XT's and they haven't broken down on me as OS drives, but as storage drives...well as I said bad experience. I'll try their offerings as soon as they release their products, if they fail on me, I'll be moving to WD for storage and remain with Seagate for their hybrids.

I'm tired of repeating this. Your personal experience is not always what will determine the results for others.

Again, look at the reliability data. Whether you want to admit it or not, Seagate is the least reliable Hard Drive manufacturer. This is a study based on samples of thousands.
Who said you had to repeat it? No one.

My personal experience is fact, it happened. Nowhere did I state because I've had 100% reliability from my Seatgate HDD's everyone else would.

I'd never say all Samsung HDD's are rubbish, because they are not. The F3's are great, I own one myself.

So please, do not double or even triple post, as you managed there and do not feel the need to reply to everyone's posts.

Go "*sigh*" somewhere else.

Edit: By saying that Seagate is the least reliable drive maker, you are now also saying that all Samsung drives are the least reliable too.

I had a WD 150 Raptor fail on me within a week many years ago making clicking noises; dropped it off at the Lake Forest warehouse in CA and got a new one in the mail. I also have an old Seagate 500GB that's still working like a champ from 2005ish.

By that experience, I could say that WDs suck, but I still love WD hard drives and have bought plenty since. I must say that my Samsung Spinpoint drives run extremely cool compared to all the other hard drives I have owned.

My personal experience determines the end results for me. Willhemmens' his.

Since you seem to be so self centered with all of your responses so far, I would assume you could understand our point.
