I'm not talking about stutla22 though. He made an honest mistake.
I would like to say this though. Windows doesn't play nicely with bootloaders. XP doesn't detect newer versions of Windows on the system so it never made an entry for the bootloader.
First off you don't need to reinstall Vista. All you need is the recovery disc. Well you may think this may be troublesome. Since it seems like you don't have another computer you may have to borrow someone's computer.
Go here for a legit Windows 7 ISO.
"Wait Windows 7?" You say. You don't need to reinstall as I said. We are only using the repair options which are the same for Vista and 7.
Go for the x86 option. Doesn't matter which one.
Alternatively you can download this Vista recovery disc. All it has it the repair options which is all you need.
Now from here burn either ISO using IMGburn if you didn't know how to already.
Then just follow these steps from this site. This just makes these easier instead writing them out for you. lol
After this is done. You won't be able to boot into XP anymore. Hope this fixes your issue.Edited by aksthem1 - 4/22/11 at 6:22am
