slow amd 1090t

Thread Starter
hey guys im new around here, and new to overclocking, so you may wonder why i ask a simple question when the aswser is obvious.
anyway heres the situation, iv been overclocking my new system and had good results to start of with. I managed to overclock the 1090t to 3.9 ghz
by increasing the fsb to 240mhz and increasing the voltage to 1.475v. This ran stable on prime95, i ran the test for 20mins and temps didnt exceed 53 degrees.
note this was the best i had the amd running

then i tried a different technique and this is when all the problems began.
cpu mult to x20 (4ghz)
NB and ht frequency to 2600mhz
fsb auto (200mhz)
g skill ram 1600mhz, 9 9 9 24 2t at 1.5v (ive always used these timings)
NB voltage 1.4
HT voltage 1.4
cpu nb vid control 1.3v
cpu voltage 1.475v

i tried this setup on prime95 and it bsod, and ever since then my comp is slow ie it takes awhile to load programs and open files. Is it possible that by increasing the nb and ht voltages have fried my motherboard?
any advice would appreciated.

you should be ok.
have you tried going stock to see if its still slow.
after a bad oc my rig does the same thing
if it does it even after going stock then all i can think of would be maybe some corruption
going on with the operating system from the oc.

on a side note i recommend you get a vrm heatsink on your board.
asap.

yeh i went back to stock and its so slow wont even let me open firefox or even the start bar.
Ive got the computer running now at 3.8Ghz and stable but its still not like it used to be, lags when going through files ect. Im thinking of buying a new motherboard, because i cant see how it could be my cpu and well i hope not.

OCZ Modstream PRO 700W sucks (I own one) for voltage ripple. Combine that with cheapo VRM phases on an 880 board, and you are asking for trouble when you overclock.

yea i would back up all you files, try a format and reinstall windows if your comfortable doing that, just to eliminate possible problems too. Hope you get it sorted.
